I was born in Paris quite a long time ago and one thing I have learned is that Paris is a city where you can never get bored! There is always something to do and you do not have to spend thousands of euros to spend a memorable night out.

And there's something for everyone: go to the opera, visit Paris at night on your own or with a group, drink a beer in a café, go dancing in a club, go to the theater! You can do something different in Paris 365 days a year!

So here are the top 10 things to do in Paris at night!

And AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE I'll give you a few REALLY COOL extras !

1. Enjoy a Parisian show of course!

I'm Julie Collas, and I'm the actress in the English-language show “Oh my god she's Parisian”, the only show in English in Paris that's “ so French” even though it's a stand-up comedy in English! With me, you'll learn all about the little quirks of Parisians.

Thanks to my show, Parisians will no longer have any secrets for you! I don't know how to explain what this comedy is because it doesn't fit into any theatrical category. I sing, I dance, I  mime and I often change my show according to my inspiration, but remember that you haven't come to see a “sweet” comedy like Emily in Paris. you've come to see a real stand-up show that spares no one, and especially not Parisians.

In fact, the french people who come to see my show tell me that everything is 100% true, even though it's obviously a theatrical comedy, so everything is magnified to make it even more comical.

So look no further for what you're doing in the first half of an evening: get your tickets to see “Oh my god she's Parisian!” The show to see in 2024 in Paris!

It’s the perfect complement to your evening plans, adding a touch of Parisian flair and laughter to your nocturnal adventures. It only lasts an hour so it is the perfect plan before a restaurant or a crazy night out! I start my show at 8.15 at theatre BO Saint-Martin in the 3rd district of Paris and by 9.30 pm at the latest you're out the door to continue your great night out! Anyway, if you want to dine with Parisians, you'll have to book at Parisian times! Before 9pm, it'll be hard to find Parisians in restaurants! We're still in the mood for an aperitif!

2. Le Marais by Night (after my show ""Oh my god she's Parisian" which is a step away from the Marais)

My theatre is a few steps away from on of the oldest and most beautiful areas of Paris!

Experience: The Marais district is one of Paris’s oldest neighborhoods and is known for its vibrant nightlife, charming streets, and historic buildings.

Details: As night falls, the Marais comes alive with a mix of trendy bars, boutique shops, and historic sites. Start your evening with a stroll through Place des Vosges, one of the most beautiful squares in Paris. Continue exploring the narrow streets, discovering hidden gems like artisanal shops and cozy wine bars. The district’s Jewish heritage is also reflected in the many kosher eateries and bakeries.

Tips: Don’t miss the opportunity to try some local pastries or visit a traditional Jewish bakery located Rue des Rosiers. For a more relaxed evening, find a quiet café to enjoy a glass of wine and people-watch.

My favorite bar there to be SOOOOO Parisian: La perle

3. Jazz Clubs in the 6th Arrondissement

Experience: Paris has a rich jazz heritage, and the 6th Arrondissement is home to some of the city’s best jazz clubs.

Details: Clubs like Le Duc des Lombards and Caveau de la Huchette offer intimate settings and high-quality performances. Enjoy live jazz music in a cozy, atmospheric venue where you can experience both renowned and emerging artists. The 6th Arrondissement, with its elegant streets and vibrant nightlife, provides the perfect backdrop for an evening of music.

Tips: Arrive early to secure a good spot, especially on weekends. Some clubs have a cover

charge, so check in advance and be prepared to enjoy a night of high-quality entertainment.

4. Parisian Rooftop Bars

Experience: Rooftop bars offer stunning views of Paris’s skyline, making them an ideal choice for a chic and sophisticated night out.

Details: Establishments like Le Perchoir and the rooftop bar at the Hôtel des Grands Boulevards provide panoramic views of the city’s illuminated landmarks. Sip on expertly crafted cocktails or fine wines as you enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The ambiance is typically stylish and relaxed, with a focus on providing a memorable experience against the backdrop of Paris’s sparkling lights.

Tips: Dress smartly, as rooftop bars often have a dress code. Reservations are recommended, especially during peak times.

5. Luxembourg Gardens at Night

Experience: While Luxembourg Gardens are typically a daytime attraction, visiting at night offers a serene and somewhat magical experience.

Details: The gardens, known for their manicured lawns and beautiful fountains, are less crowded in the evening. The softly lit paths and tranquil atmosphere create a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Take a leisurely walk or simply sit and enjoy the calm surroundings. Although the main attractions like the fountains and statues are not lit, the dim lighting provides a romantic and quiet setting.

Tips: Bring a blanket and some snacks for a quiet picnic if the weather allows. Be aware of the closing times, as the gardens are generally not open late, but you can still enjoy the surrounding areas.

From May until end of August the gardens closes around 9PM. Check the closing time for the rest of the year:

6. Eiffel Tower at Night (I know it looks cheezy but wait!!! and read)

Experience: The Eiffel Tower, Paris's most recognizable landmark, is transformed into a sparkling masterpiece as night falls. From sunset to 1 AM, the tower is adorned with 20,000 shimmering bulbs that create a dazzling light show every hour on the hour.

Details: To truly appreciate the Eiffel Tower at night, consider dining at one of its restaurants, like Madame Brasserie, located on the first floor. Enjoying a meal while overlooking the illuminated cityscape is a quintessential Parisian experience. For an even more breathtaking view, ascend to the summit (third floor) where you can see Paris' landmarks lit up across the horizon. The light show, lasting for about five minutes, is a spectacle of twinkling lights that adds a magical touch to the evening.

Tips: Buy tickets in advance to avoid long lines. For the best experience, arrive before dark to witness the transition from daylight to the illuminated nightscape.

Book on advance at Madame Brasserie! The view is breathtaking! If you can ask for a table with a view!

7. Seine River Cruise at night! (because if you don't know Paris you have to do it!!)

Experience: in my show in English I do not talk about this "Paris" you can only see from the Seine river so I think it's one of the best way to see Paris even if most Parisians will tell you it is so "cheezy"! A cruise along the Seine River offers a serene and picturesque way to see Paris’s illuminated landmarks. As you glide past monuments such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, and Musée d'Orsay, the city's architectural beauty is highlighted by soft, shimmering lights.

Details: Several companies offer evening cruises, ranging from simple boat rides to luxurious dinner cruises. Opting for a dinner cruise allows you to savor French cuisine while enjoying panoramic views of Paris’s monuments. The boats often have glass roofs, providing unobstructed views of the city’s night sky.

Tips: Book in advance, especially if you want a dinner cruise. For a more intimate experience, consider a smaller, private boat.

8. Montmartre at Night

Experience: Montmartre, the historic and artistic district of Paris, takes on a vibrant yet romantic atmosphere after dark. Its narrow, winding streets are lined with charming cafés, bars, and artists’ studios.

`

Details: Begin your evening with a visit to the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur. The basilica's white façade is beautifully lit at night, and the view from its steps offers a panoramic view of the city below, especially stunning at dusk. Wander through the Place du Tertre, where local artists display their work. The lively ambiance is complemented by street performers and cozy bistros.

Tips: Wear comfortable shoes, as Montmartre is hilly. If I have to tell you the truth Parisians don’t really eat in Montmartre which has become too touristic. We go down the hill for more affordable food and cooler places

My favorite restaurant down the hill of Montmartre: le Pantruche

9. Latin Quarter and Rue Mouffetard

Experience: The Latin Quarter, known for its bohemian spirit and lively atmosphere, is perfect for exploring after dark. Rue Mouffetard, one of its most famous streets, is particularly vibrant in the evening.

Details: The area is filled with bustling cafés, lively bars, and street food vendors. Enjoy a meal at a traditional French restaurant or explore the many options for a casual bite. The Latin Quarter’s narrow streets come alive with the sound of music and conversation, creating a lively yet laid-back atmosphere.

Tips: Check out local favorites such as Le Relais de l’Entrecôte for a classic steak frites experience. The Latin Quarter is also known for its affordable and delicious street food, so don’t miss the opportunity to sample a crepe or some fresh pastries.

My favorite place to eat! Unfortunately they don't have a website!

Yes you can also find last minutes tickets to go to the opera with a lower price!!!

I am not saying it will be as funny as OH my God she's Parisian but you can be an English comedy stand-up fan and still want to see a ballet!

Experience: The Palais Garnier, Paris’s opulent opera house, offers a glimpse into the grandeur of 19th-century French architecture and the magic of live performances.

Details: Attend an opera or ballet performance at this magnificent venue, renowned for its ornate design and rich history. The interior, adorned with gold leaf, crystal chandeliers, and grand staircases, provides a luxurious backdrop for an evening of culture and sophistication.
